Piz Nair Sunrise in Winter

Whether you’re a hiker or a winter sports enthusiast—the Piz Nair Sunrise offers the chance to experience the mountain even before the official opening time and then kick off your winter day.

Participants must have a valid mountain railway ticket. These can be purchased at the Experience Shop or at any Oberengadiner Bergbahnen ticket window during business hours, among other places. Annual passes, multi-day passes, and the Sleep + Ski ticket are valid for the Piz Nair Sunrise Winter Event.
The price includes
- A hearty breakfast buffet at the Piz Nair 10,000 Feet restaurant
- The special morning ride on the St. Moritz Dorf cable cars up to Piz Nair before sunrise

Advance registration for the event through the Experience Shop is required.

Procedure
The meeting point for all participants in the Piz Nair Sunrise event is at the lower station of the funicular in St. Moritz Dorf. Before the funicular’s official operating hours begin and even before dawn, everyone will take the funicular together to the summit of Piz Nair. The early cable car ride and the arrival at over 3,000 meters above sea level are what give this morning its special charm. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a generous breakfast buffet. This is available to participants during sunrise and afterward until the official end of the event at 9:00 a.m. This allows time to enjoy the tranquility and the special atmosphere on the mountain before regular winter operations begin. At the same time, at 9:00 a.m., the ski slopes starting from Piz Nair open, and the Piz Nair shuttle cable car runs downhill toward Corviglia. Those on skis or snowboards can use it to jump right into their day of winter sports. For anyone who doesn’t want to wait until the official end of the event at 9:00 a.m., an extra shuttle run from Piz Nair to Corviglia is available at 8:00 a.m. You can find the official operating hours of our lift facilities here.

If you're arriving by car and park in the Quadrellas parking garage, you can exchange your entry ticket at the Piz Nair 10,000 Feet restaurant for a daily parking ticket to the Special price of CHF 20 exchange.
In the event that the Piz Nair Sunrise event is canceled at short notice due to external factors or an insufficient number of registrations, the fee paid for the Piz Nair Sunrise event will be refunded. However, mountain rail tickets purchased specifically for this event are non-refundable. Furthermore, Engadin St. Moritz Mountains AG will not cover any additional costs (e.g., lodging, etc.) incurred by the participant as a result of the cancellation of the Piz Nair Sunrise event.
